Andriy Stelmashchuk Acting as an Expert of S.Z.Mykhailin Õ² All-Ukrainian Moot Court Competition on Commercial Law
On March 26-27, 2010, Donetsk hosted S.Z. Mykhailin Õ² All-Ukrainian Moot Court Competition on Commercial Law, which was organized by the UBA Students League and the Youth Center of Legal Studies of the Economics and Law Faculty of Donetsk National University. This competition annually brings together activists of law faculties of higher educational institutions in Ukraine.
Traditionally, the competition was focused on a topic based on real events. The pleadings were evaluated by leading law practitioners that were invited as experts. As a highly regarded authority in commercial litigation, Andriy Stelmashchuk, Counsellor with Vasil Kisil & Partners, was yet again invited to join the panel of judges.
In the moot court competition, students tried to demonstrate their knowledge and skills through pleadings before a moot court while the judges evaluated everything to the last detail: quality of process documents, knowledge of laws and regulations, ability to correctly apply them to the facts of the case, persuasiveness in court and answers to the questions asked by judges, oratorical skills, etc.
Upon completion of the competition, experienced lawyers took pleasure in sharing their professional opinions and offered a lot of useful tips regarding the future legal practice.
