Experts pondering the future of the Ukrainian Banking Sector at Adam Smith Conferences’ 4th Annual Ukrainian Banking Forum

On November 16-18, 2009, Kyiv hosted Adam Smith Conferences’ 4th Annual Ukrainian Banking Forum, which was sponsored, among others, by Vasil Kisil & Partners Law Firm.

The Forum gathered a strong speaker panel of over 40 leading Ukrainian and international bankers, analysts and economists. It brought together over 350 experts and leading financial market players to discuss the hotest issues relevant for the Ukrainian banking sector.

The first session of the Forum was focused on “Constantly Changing Environment and Related Operating Principles.” The second session was devoted to the actions of the government and supervision authorities aimed to support the financial system and banking system restructuring. It featured the presentations of various public officers. Mr. Denis Lysenko, a partner of Vasil Kisil & Partners Law Firm, who is an experienced bank restructuring practitioner, moderated the 3rd session on “Bank Restructuring.” At the end, the forth session featured the reports on “Corporate Restructuring.”

The Forum traditionally offered a unique opportunity for the peers to come together and interact with each other while assessing recent and future developments in the industry, reviewing business strategies pursued by key operators of the Ukrainian banking sector and debating legislative initiatives of regulators.
