14th International Practical Conference "Topical Intellectual Property Issues"

On August 31 – September 4, the 14th International Practical Conference entitled "Topical Intellectual Property Issues" took place in Yalta.

The event was organized by the State Intellectual Property Department, the World Intellectual Property Organization, the European Patent Office, the Ukrainian Center of Innovations and Patent Information Services, and the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The problems covered during the conference included the strategy for development of the national system of intellectual property legal protection, legislative changes in the IP sphere in the context of European integration, use of IP capabilities for the benefit of business and production development and for increasing competitive strength of domestic products, protection of property rights to trademarks and trade names, international registration of IP rights and enhancing export capacity of Ukrainian enterprises, the role and function of agencies for collective management of property rights of copyright and neighboring rights holders.

Partner and head of Vasil Kisil & Partners IP practice Oleksiy Filatov made a presentation providing a comparative analysis of IP rights protection in the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine and in court.
